What is Bazaaru?
Bazaaru (bazaaru.app) is the online marketplace and classifieds site for the Maldives. People and shops buy, sell and give away new and second-hand items on every island, from Malé and Hulhumalé to Addu.
Is it free to post a listing?
Yes. Posting is free: add photos, a price and your island, and your listing is online at once. Sellers who want more views can choose a paid promotion, but you never need one.
How do I pay for an item?
You pay the seller directly, the way you both agree, for example cash at pickup or a bank transfer. Bazaaru does not take part in the payment, so never pay before you have seen the item.
Can I buy from another island?
Yes. Many sellers deliver or send items by ferry. Look for "Delivery" on the listing and agree the details with the seller in the chat.
How do I stay safe?
Chat inside Bazaaru, meet in a public place or at the jetty, check the item before you pay, and tap Report on any listing, seller or chat that looks wrong. Our team checks every report.
Can shops and businesses sell on Bazaaru?
Yes. Choose "Business / shop" in your profile to show your shop name, banner and opening hours for free. PRO plans add more reach for sellers who post often.
Is there a Bazaaru app?
Bazaaru works in any phone browser and you can add it to your home screen in one tap. An Android app on Google Play is on the way.
How do I contact Bazaaru?
Write to info@bazaaru.app or open Help for answers about buying, selling, payments and your account.
